Explore Beaverton, Oregon
This city just west of Portland, Oregon, is named for the abundance of beaver dams in the area. Beaverton was established in 1868 as a shipping point on the Oregon Central Railroad. This has become a center for electronics, light industry and research. Almost 300 acres of vineyards and a variety of recreational facilities can be found. A local highlight includes the Tualatin Hills Nature Park and Interpretive Center.
